Problem Using "Tab" as a shortcut key
Hello all -
I am building a freeform question as a shortcut key and I have been trying to enter in the "Tab" key as what I want the learner to click on their keyboard. However, even if I put my cursor in the "Press the Key or Key Combination" field, it will just tab me down to the "Correct" option on the bottom...Storyline thinks I'm trying to Tab to the "Correct" option when I want to use Tab as my actual shortcut key for a learner.
Has anybody had this problem? Is there another way I could use Tab as my shortcut key?

Hi Josh, the "Tab" key is configured in Articulate to navigate through interactive elements on a slide. The focus order controls the Tab order. Last I heard Tab cannot be configured for any other use.
Focus orderJoshTaksier - I figured out a way to get tab to be registered, but I guess it depends on what you are putting on the slide?
This was how I was able to achieve it:- Open a blank word document
- From the story view in Storyline, select to Record Screen
- Set the screen recorder to record your blank word doc
- Click Record
- Put the focus back on the word doc and press the Tab key (maybe even press the tab key and click on the doc a couple of times)
- Click Done
- On the insert slides dialog you can select to make the slides "Test Mode" which will turn them into question slides and you can select to put the slides in a new scene or insert them into an existing scene
- Click Insert
The system will insert blank slides into your project, but you will have the Tab registered as the shortcut key you need to press. Then you can edit the slides how ever you need to.
