Problems with Focus Order

Hello, I'm back. I'm now having a similar problem with slide 2 that I wasn't experiencing before. If a user closes a card layer the focus order goes wonky. It either skips the header of the next card or skips to the end of the focus order. I can't use the same solution as slide 1, because, for this interaction, users need to be able to click on the base slide. Any ideas?
