Publishing a course for offline viewing
Is it possible that a course can be published for offline viewing? I want to make a software "simulator" for my company...

If you publish a course for the web, those files can be run on a hard drive.
- The complete set of published files must be on the hard drive, with no changes to any file names nor to the folders and their structure. (The set of files can be put into another folder.)
- Clicking the story.html file would launch the course.
The files could also be put on the company's internal website, though that would require the user to be online.
So it is possible to view a course offline. However, if a course isn't in an LMS/LRS, there's no way to track progress. Thus, the user would probably have to start from the beginning every time they launched the course (rather than resuming where they left off). And you wouldn't know whether someone completed the course or not.

Thanks for your help, all. I could get it to work on my local PC, but I would also like it to work on mobile phones. It seems the "save to" location of my mobile is not a valid location. If I copy the files from my PC to the phone, it doesn't work. Is this not possible...?

Opening Storyline 360 published output directly on your mobile devices might not work without the use of third-party apps. Try searching for "how to view HTML on mobile devices" on your preferred search engine for ideas and tips on which apps to use.
We have an open feature request for adding offline playback on mobile devices. I've added your voice to the report, and we'll be sure to leave a message here in case we have any news to share!
