Publishing to Word Doc not working in Storyline 360

Hello.

I have previously been able to publish stories to word from 360. The latest story I am working on will not allow me to do it. After selecting publish as a word doc I get the pop up indicating success, with options to: view the document, email, FTP, ZIP.... When I click on "view document" the Articulate Storyline Error Report pops up. I have saved the file to my hard drive,  renamed it, and still have the same issue. I have also reset word trust center settings to default and the problem persists.

  • Hello Raymond,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Does publishing a newly created and blank project file work as expected? If so, an error report like the one you received after opening a published Storyline 360 project usually means that the output files possibly contains corrupted data.

Would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can confirm if this is the case? We'll delete it when we're done!

    Joe,

A new blank story worked fine. I sent a support case request to you.

    thanks for the support,

    Ray

if the error message appears - please click on the blue text button "information", then a second window will open with more informations

just copy the text from the second window and post it here

  • So I worked out what was going wrong. If you have a carriage return in your course title you get this problem. Just re-add it without the carriage return and it publishes fine!

  • Thanks so much for sharing your workaround in this thread Graham! I'm sure it will be helpful to others that come across this post.

Glad to hear you were able to publish with no issues!

If any other discoveries or questions come up in the future, please feel free to share in the E-Learning Heroes Community! ✨

Carriage return in the title: That fixed it for me. Thanks, Graham!
