Question: Question Banks and Freeform

For some certain functionality tweaks, I need to do one of two things in Storyline 2:

1.  Convert an existing slide in a question bank to Freeform (but the Freeform button is greyed out)  OR

2.  Put a Freeform question into my question bank so it can be selected randomly in my quiz.

For the life of me I cannot figure out what to do and the tutorials and videos are no help.  Can someone here please help?

  • Hi there Kathleen!

Question banks generally contain question slides, you can also add freeform questions, if you'd like. Click New Slide, then select the Quizzing tab to add a freeform interaction. See this tutorial for details. I hope this helps!

    Hi there,

I'm using that thread as it tends to covers what I'm trying to achieve in SL3.

Is that possible to, instead of adding manually a freeform to a question bank, import a series of question from an excel file to a question bank based on a freeform we would have designed earlier?

    Hope it's clear :)

    Multiple Response

    FIB

    Fill in the Blank

    WB

    Word Bank

    MD

    Matching Drag and Drop

    MDN

    Matching Drop-Down

    SD

    Sequence Drag and Drop

    SDN

    Sequence Drop-Down

    NUM

    Numeric

    LIK

    Likert

    PO

    Pick One

    PM

    Pick Many

    WW

    Which Word

    SA

    Short Answer

    ESS

    Essay

    RD

    Ranking Drag and Drop

    RDN

    Ranking Drop-Down

    HM

    How Many

    I hope that helps!

Hello, I am using SL3. Was able to import questions to a scene (which inserts many slides) but how do I import questions into the Quiz Bank so that I can draw from QB in 1 slide? Thanks in advance! 9 Jul 2021

  • Hi, Rachel.

    Thank you for reaching out!

If you already have questions in your project as different slides, you can import them to a question bank.

You can go to Slides > Question Banks > Create a new question bank, then after naming the question bank, you can click on the screen to import questions already in this project

Let me know if this works!
