Quiz Question Outcome Different in Preview Mode Versus When Published

In my series of quiz questions, I followed Don Westover's suggestions from this thread to reset my quiz question slides when offering two attempts.

His suggestions work and I implemented the necessary triggers for each question. Here is my issue:

In preview mode, when the question is answered incorrectly, I'll get the "try again" pop up...and get to try for a second time. 

When published, the same question, when answered incorrectly, automatically gives the Incorrect pop up and moves to the next question. 

I have cross-checked all triggers, I have completed a Storyline update...what could be causing this and is there any resolution that can be offered?
