Recent File List

There are situations where people store files in 2 different locations (same name) in order to have a backup. When you hover the pointer over the file in the Recent File List, why doesn't it show the file path of that file so you know which one the line entry refers to?

  • I just checked my computer, and I see what you are taking about. I think this might be a computer issue not an Articulate issue. I would have your IT people check it.

      Hi Eric

Which part do you think may be a computer issue? You mean it is supposed to display the path? Because I have files right on my hard drive (C:) that it is not displaying the path.

      Thanks

      Bill

        Bill,

I work off 2 computers at times. by using a OneDrive, Shared drive, and a stand-alone hard drive I'm able to transfer files. I have looked at all and every time I hover over the Articulate files, or any other for that matter, I get the box with a path and other information. I don't think this would be an Articulate issue, I think there is a setting on your drive, computer, or maybe in your virus software hiding this.

  • It would be nice to see a pop-up with the file path in the Recent list. You can submit a feature request here: Product feature request | Articulate

You can also post it here: Suggest Ideas | Articulate - Community

    • Submitting a request doesn't guarantee that a feature will be implemented. But the
number of people who request a feature might have some impact on the decision
      making process.

In the meantime, here are some options to avoid confusion.

Always open a given project from the same location. To back it up, do either of the following:

    • Do "Save As," but add a version date to the file name.
    • Never do "Save As." Instead, copy the file, and then paste it in the backup location. Or duplicate the file, and move that copy to the backup location.
