Recommendations: New flipbook software?

Hello Heroes,

We have used, and recommended KviSoft's Flipbook Maker to convert PDFs into flipping Flash magazines. But a recent change in the company firewall will no longer allow the software to "phone home", rendering it permanently in demo mode.

So... anyone have recommendations for flipbook software with these criteria?

  • Primarily used for stand alone (exe of swf) file creation of Flash-based pdfs
  • Must be able to embed video files (not just link to YouTube)
  • Must be able to run on destktop
  • Not freeware/shareware as some of our users will need support

Also, does anyone have specific feedback on these guys who seem to fit the above?

Thanks!

  • You can check out the free online flipbook making service of Issuu. It has a free service.

I use a desktop flipbook program. It offers three different versions, please check more information about the flipbook software here.

  • Something I used whilst in education for distributing school prospectus and parent information. Interactive lesson plan and e-learning prospectus, it has come on leaps and bounds.

    3D Issue.

Its a one off payment, but you will need a hosting environment/ website.

I am about to put together a proposal for an ebook (flip book) system, current possibilities are Adobe digital editions and 3D Issue in my new role, different ends of the spectrum (cost wise), but equally suitable for my needs

  • Hi,
You can easily convert PDF to html5  eBook by the help of fliphtml5  that can create HTML5 flipping book for mobile.

  • Most if not all of the above options are either based in flash or will force you to upload large pdfs to a cloud service somewhere. If you want to stay in control over your content then use FlexPaper to publish your docs instead:

      Hi Erik,
3d issue is html 5, there is a flash component if you require it but it is fully customisable.

I create in Adobe InDesign and covert to PDF. Which the relevant exported components are then converted in 3Dissue, then posted indirectly to the cloud.

Another aspect i like is the ability to add delegates by csv import preventing access to any private to non delegates. Its fully searchable within google analytics also.

  • Have a look at FlexPaper, we're the only software provider that converts your PDFs to true html5 elements (not just images) which means that text will always stay sharp. There are multiple publishing options including slide, flip or portrait and landscape modes.
