Recording Issue

I'm attempting to record a single scene, but the recordings show a screen WITHIN a screen, almost like a visual echo (image attached).  What am I doing wrong?

  • Hi Elizabeth, and welcome to the E-Learning Heroes Community! Glad you're here! 🥳

Thanks so much for reaching out! Sorry to hear you ran into this snag.

I have a few questions in order to better understand:

    • How many monitors do you currently have set up? Storyline doesn't support multi-monitor recording, but you can record one screen at a time.
    • I’m curious to know your steps for recording your screen. Could you please share so I better understand?

One potential solution might be to set the display scaling to 100%:

    1. Right-click your desktop and select Display settings.
    2. Take note of the display device number that's selected at the top of the page. The Identify button lets you know the assigned number for each display.
    3. Under Scale & layout, select 100% from the Scale drop-down list.
    4. Do the same for other display devices.

(These instructions are for Windows 11. Here is the link to Windows 10 information)

I'd love to take a closer look at your file as well so I can try and replicate this on my end. Feel free to upload your file to this thread or privately in a support case

Looking forward to hearing from you! 😊
