Refreshing the quiz results page is taking me back to the start of the quiz.
Hi Community members,
Not sure what's gone wrong, but after publishing it on my LMS, when I refresh the results page of Quiz 1 (the first quiz in the project), it takes me back to the 1st slide of the quiz. It should stay on the results page as I have not put any trigger to take it back to the home page. The LMS doesn't have any issues, and this problem doesn't occur on any other page. Can you please check the attached project and help/guide?
Hi Shaun,
Happy to look into this for you! I'd like to ask a few questions to help clarify your experience.
- Would you mind sharing how you are 'refreshing' the results page of Quiz 1 on your end? Are you physically pressing a page refresh button like F5 on your keyboard or something similar? Or is there a built-in button in your LMS that refreshes the page?
- Additionally, can you clarify what is the purpose of refreshing the page while in the middle of the course/quiz so we can better understand the behavior?
Additionally, would you mind accessing this link and letting us know if you are still able to observe the behavior? On my end, I refreshed the results page of the first quiz by pressing 'Ctrl + R' which reloaded the entire page, and I can confirm that I was taken back to the results page when the refresh finished loading.
Looking forward to your response!

Hi Jose, Thanks for your response and sorry for the late reply as I am starting today after the year-end break. Regarding your points:
1. I am refreshing the page using the browser refresh button as we use our LMS in Google Chrome.
2. The purpose of refreshing the page: I am building a 20-question-long assessment for our dealership staff, and I expect some of them to leave it in the middle of the assessment to go and grab coffee or do something else and come back and restart it. This is partly due to the work culture at dealerships. Some of them might do it in one go. But the ones getting off in the middle of it might refresh the page before starting the assessment again(as expected). Hence, I am thinking along those lines to fix this behaviour. The LMS is designed to bookmark the courses, and it is behaving perfectly with other courses; not sure why this one is causing the issue. If I am on the results page or any other page, the refreshing should keep me on the same page regardless.
To your knowledge, what would cause the behaviour of the course to not land on the same page where we left off (after restarting the course or refreshing the page)? What would make it land on another page?
Hello Shaun,
If you are seeing issues when your learners exit a course and resume their progress, there's a possibility that your course might be exceeding its suspend_data limit. This article explains what suspend_data is and how it affects course progress when a course is resumed:
Can I ask which SCORM format (SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004) are you using so I can test on my end to see if I can spot anything out of the ordinary with your course's suspend data? You can also check this yourself by enabling your course's LMS debug mode. You can enable the debug mode of your course and then attempt to replicate the behavior to see if any errors are logged when the course is resumed.
Additionally, were you able to replicate the behavior using the link that I shared? The issue might be specific to your LMS and testing using the the link can help confirm if this is the case.

Hi Jose, I use Scorm 1.2. I have developed my 20-question long quiz as I had to create a draft version asap. There is a new issue where the course goes into review mode after I have passed the course and been on the results page, and it resets the results to 0 again. I have put the variables on the first page to track the completion status, and it shows 0% completion every single time I complete/pass the course and refresh the results page. I want the course to stay on the results page once the staff has completed it. If I don't fix it, there is a risk of the staff coming back, refreshing the results page and redoing the quiz again. It is a matter of one of them finding this loophole and spreading it across.
Can I share the story file with answers with you securely so that you can look at it?
In the meantime, my LMS admin is looking into the debug data, but he might not come back soon due to other priorities.
