Reset game slide after retake.....help needed.....SO FRUSTRATED

Hey everyone, I was hoping I might get an assist today.  I have been using the Quiz Game template found below.  I was able to add a second attempt on the quiz, reduce the quiz to 10 questions, and make the Try Again layer work.  The problem I am having is getting the game board to refresh and turn the buttons back on after a failure and the subsequent retake.  I have tried so many triggers my brain hurts.

I just need that game board to reset after the user clicks the retake button on the results slide.  Does anyone have a solution I am missing?  Second link is to the actual program if you really want to sit through it all to see it work.  The quiz is housed in the second half of the Scorm as the test after the presentation.

  • Quick and non-elegant headache cure:

I don’t have time to sit through it, but from your description, maybe the fastest way is to just duplicate the game. Have the Try Again button jump to that slide, and it will be as it began. If you are using built-in number of attempts, you may have to create that manually. I don’t know, YMMV.

Otherwise, you need to attach your .story file here. Someone can help you if they can take a look at what is going on.

  • Thats not a bad call Walt.  The only worry I have is multiple retakes.  Imagine a user who is failing it on purpose to avoid floor work, after two attempts I am back to square one.  Sad to admit, but I do have users that will do that.  Nobody likes touching tires.

  • I did a quick look and the first thing I would do is remove the button to play video. If you put the next arrow back in and set the video to play when the timeline starts. Next, without see the test I can't play with the replay. But I think you can change one of the properties to reset the quiz.
