Resume state on a slide that only has a video on it
Hi All
I have a very short course that in essence has a intro slide, a slide with a video that automatically starts with the slide timeline and a closing slide.
I am experiencing an issue with the resume saved state for the slide with the video on it. We want the slide to resume at the point within the video where the person exited - hence the resume saved state. However when you resume it is restarting the video rather than going to the point on the video timeline where they exited the course.
Any ideas on what i might be doing wrong or what else I can try?
Thanks
Leanne

Thanks for sharing Allen - you should be hearing from someone soon and I will follow along as well :)
Hi Allen - I popped in to check on your case this morning and it looks like you are continuing to work with Wilbert.

Leslie,
Thank you for checking in. Yes, Wilbert and I are still working on it. He has gotten the test course to operate w/o hanging on SCORM Cloud. However, oddly, it still experiences hanging on Review 360. The other issue is that the video now starts from the beginning regardless.

Hi Leslie,
I am too facing a similar issue.
Hello Diana and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Sorry to hear that you've run into this issue as well.
- What version of the software are you utilizing?
- Did you verify that you had your resume settings as shared above?
- Are you able to replicate the behavior in SCORM Cloud?
If you need us to take a look, please feel free to share your .story file for us to take a look.

Hello,
I'm experiencing the same issue, we have several courses that are single slide videos. They've been published as "prompt to resume" however they do not resume when the user comes back. Has this been resolved.
Thank you!
Hello Maria,
Sorry to hear that you've run into an issue with resuming your course as well.
Can you share a bit ore information:
- What version of the software are you utilizing?
- Are you able to replicate the behavior in SCORM Cloud?

I have been trying to get around this same issue (not resuming video at the previsous exit point) for some time. I really don't want to breakup my video file into short vignettes and place each onto a separate slide to simulate resuming video. So I thought to try Leslie's suggestion.
@Leslie - I built a short course with SL3 (3 slides: intro slide, video on a slide, closing slide), published it for SCORM1.2 with the restart parameter set to 'Prompt to Resume'. Uploaded the course to SCORM Cloud, launched the course, stop the 30-second vdeo at the 10 second point, exited the course. I relaunched the course, answered the prompt to resume - the video started from the beginning instead of where I had left off.
This leads to me ask - does SL3 acutally communicate bookmarking to the LMS?
Hi BJ,
I published your file for Web and LMS to test it in a couple different environments. Both times I could get the video to continue where it left off if I had jumped to the next slide or closed out the browser window.
Here's my SCORM Cloud link for you to test and here's a video of my web published output too. Both behaved the same. I was testing using the latest version of Chrome. Can you test my SCORM Cloud link and let me know what you see.

Hi Ashley,
YES, your published output DOES resume video at the last stop point as oppose to mine (Here is my SCORM Cloud link)! I am super excited because I need to create several video based courses -- there is hope for me!
Your result leads me to believe I may not have published it correctly for SCORM. But what could that be? As you can see from the .story file I've uploaded here, the publishing settings are for SCORM 1.2, HTML5/Flash, Prompt to Resume. What else am I missing?
(I have SL3)

Hello,
Is that behavior different between SL3 and SL360? I've never been able to get a video to pick up where it left off in SL360.
