Resumed saved state not working properly

Hi I'm having an issue with audio, when I revisit a slide all the audio present (sounds and text to speech repeat itself overlapping).

I've tried selecting automatically decide and resumed saved state but still doesn't work, while the states of the shapes and buttons change and are showed correctly in the new state when revisiting.

I upload the test project, I'm working with Mac n VMware fusion version 13.5.2.

Can anyone help?

  • Hi all!

We just released Storyline 360 (Build 3.94.33511.0), which includes a fix for a bug that was reported in this thread: multiple audio tracks played simultaneously on slides that were set to resume saved states and had videos.

To take advantage of this fix and others, all you need to do is update Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app!

I downloaded your test file, and its working absolutely fine for me.

When I use the MENU to revisit the first slide, the state of the rectangles shows correctly, and the audio does not play.

The only thing I can think of is that somehow the VMware install on the Mac is messing things up; but I find that very unlikely.

  • Hi Andrew,

Thanks I've attached a video of what happens in Preview inside Storyline and the same is when I publish the course in Review.

I guess should be something related with the Mac...

Could be. It might also be a bug in the 64 bit Storyline? I tested here using the 32 bit and havent tested it on the 64. Definitely a strange one as it is working fine here.

      Hi Training Inditex!

Glad to see Andrew has been helping you!

I noticed that your support case is being handled by my teammate, Matthew. It looks like he replied to your e-mail sharing insight into this behavior. If you have any follow-up questions, feel free to reconnect with Matthew through your case!

Can you share what the resolution was? I have a slide set to resume the saved state, but my audio plays again when revisiting when that is not what I need it to do.

Hi, I've actually started to have the exact same problem. Audios don't just play on revisting, there overlap if there are more than one. This is even after Resume Saved State is selected.

    • Hi Calvin!

Sorry to hear you're also having trouble with overlapping audio in Storyline!

In update 3.88.32574.0, we fixed a bug that caused multiple audio tracks to play simultaneously when revisiting slides that were set to resume saved states. Is it possible your course was created before that fix? If your Storyline installation is up to date but you're still having issues, do you mind sharing the .story file so we can take a look?

Feel free to upload a copy here in the discussion or privately through a support case.

Thank you, Steven. Yes, it was created much earlier. I have updated SL but still having issues.
I'm uploading a copy through a support case if that's okay.

      Hello Calvin,

Thanks for sharing your Storyline file with our team in a support case. I see that you have worked with my colleague John, who helped identify that the behavior is related to a bug in the product.

We'll let you know if there are any updates that might help, and I'm glad you have found a workaround that can be used for now. Let's continue the conversation in your support case to keep the information in one place.

hi EricSantos I experienced an audio issue yesterday. I have a timeline with two audio files, positioned end to end and not triggered by events (play by timeline). When I used the play back progress bar to move the timeline back, both audios played and overlapped. Is this related to the same bug that has been identified here?

  • Hi, I am also seeing the resume saved state not working.  on first visit they need to 'visit' all the circles to show all the infomation in the visited state.  If they wish to revisit this slide its not saved, and oddly it wont let them revisit so they cannot proceed after this slide correctly.

      Hi KathrynBoddice,

Happy to check this for you!

I'd like to see if changing some of your triggers or slide settings fixes the behavior of the slide. Would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can check how it's setup? We'll delete it when we're done testing!
