review assessment / show correct answers

In our assessments, we use two slide result pages - one for Success and one for Failure. We do this because we have some custom functionality for each use case and this is the best solution. We have done this for years and it has always worked flawlessly.

What has also worked for years is that we provide a Review Assessment button on each results slide. The Review Assessment button for the Success slide uses the Show correct / incorrect feature. The Review Assessment button for the Failure slide DOES NOT use the Show correct / incorrect feature.

However, we just noticed through our QA testing that now the two buttons always mirror each other. If we turn on the Show correct / incorrect feature for one of the buttons, the other button (on the other slide) also turns on that feature. If we turn it off on one of the buttons, Storyline turns it off for the other button (on the other slide).

This is preventing us from using our somewhat complex but long-time tried and true assessment logic. Because it worked successfully for quite a few years, I assume this is something that was introduced in a recent Storyline update.

  • Hi Chris!

Sorry to hear you've run into this setback!

Our development team is currently tracking a bug in Storyline, which sounds similar to the behavior you described. It would be helpful to see the .story file to confirm if you are being affected by the same issue. Do you mind uploading a copy here in the discussion or privately through a support case?

We'll let you know as soon as we receive it!
