Rise and adding Audio
I'm playing around in Rise and I cannot see a way to add audio. Is this not possible? Currently I'm looking at an Image and text, but I would want to add audio to almost anything. This would be highly disappointing.
Hi everyone! 🎉
I’m excited to share that we’ve released a new Rise 360 update that includes the feature you requested:
- Insert audio in text, quote, statement, image, list, carousel, flashcard, tabs, and accordion blocks.
There’s nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available.
Let me know if you have any questions about this update!

Can you export Rise to Storyline and add the Course narration there? I'm completely new to this so that might be a silly question.....

If you want a narrated animation of some sort, just use Storyline to create it and then import it into a Rise block.
Hi Helen,
No silly questions here!
Rise can be exported for LMS, No LMS - Web Only, or you could use the Share link to send along to others. So there isn't a direct import of Rise into Storyline (although we do have the reverse with the Storyline block in Rise) but you could look at using a web object to embed Rise content in a Storyline course.
Could you share a bit more about what you're looking to accomplish and we can point you in the right direction?

Hello. Can narration be added within the accordion block?
Hi Chris,
The tabs in an Accordion block allow you to add in images, video or embed something from the web. Are you looking to include an audio component in addition to the text in the block? If so, the video or web embed options may work for you.
Let us know!

I want to add narration of the content. I don't want to force the learner to read it if they would prefer to hear it verbally.
Thanks, Chris! It sounds like a good idea for a feature request! I'll pass it along to our team.

Hi Ashley,
As Chris, I want to add narration of the content in Rise. Is it currently possible now?

I was also just looking around for how to do this... I 2nd the request for the ability to add narration to text!!!
Hi April,
I'm curious to know more. Would you mind telling me a little more about why that particular function would come in handy for you? What type of scenario would you use it in? I'll share your feedback with our product team.

Hi, Ashley. We add narration/dictation to text in some of our Storyline courses... simply to give learners the option to listen to the material or read it... whichever they prefer. I see that narration can be added to some interactions in Rise but not to text boxes where the majority of readable material is.

This would be a great feature. Many of our learners have requested the ability to listen to audio at the same time as reading text. It certainly conforms with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) concepts.

A reason? That's easy!
This can be considered an essential element where UDL, accessibility, and learning preferences are concerned. Sure, some with disabilities may already be using a screen reader, but others may not have and may still need the learning support.
I have ZERO disabilities and I learn better when I am reading and hearing the words aloud....allows me to process faster and not fall asleep with a bunch of reading. Perhaps counter to what Mayer says about designing to avoid cognitive overload with media, but users should still have the option to learn as they will.
Thanks for sharing that feedback, Tonya! I'll be sure to add your voice to the feature request.
Thanks for that context, April! I'll pass that along. And feel free to share any other ideas you have here: Feature Request Form.
