I'm trying to embed a link with URL strings using the embed feature.

Has there been any update on this bug? I just had a series of courses where we received notice that the links don't work (also in the button block) and I checked each link - the added 'amp' is the issue. I'm correcting the links and republishing the courses for now...

Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue. We're still monitoring this bug and we'll let everyone subscribed to this thread now as soon as a fix is released!
