Agree. We've seen a lot of issues with resume data in SCORM 1.2. One moderately sized module ended up dropping the back half of the slide visits. The inflation of the suspend data string seems inconsistent, as you illustrate above. Optimizing these would help a little bit. It's a mystery to me how some of the suspend strings apply so many characters to stuff like quiz interactions. Maybe it's holding all of the interaction data? If so, it's not needed in suspend.
Would love to see suspend data stored in an ordered priority. Seems to me scores, completion status, and slide visits would take priority, followed by variables, slide and layer states. In that order.
