SCORM Name for Connected Packages

Hi,

I may be mistaken, but I would expect the SCORM package filename (specifically the string of letters and numbers in the file name) to remain the same from one download to the next if it is a connected package.

I may be overthinking this, but I wanted to confirm that updates are still being applied even when the string of letters and numbers at the end of the downloaded file name changes between downloads.

    Hi,

The SCORM zip file for a connected package is downloaded once only and then never again.

Thank you I understand that, but we needed to put it on two different LMS systems on different days, so I had to redownload it and the file name at the end wasn't the same.

        Hey EpicEdward,

Great to see that Karl has been helping you.

I can confirm this is currently the expected behavior for Connected Packages. The changing letters and numbers at the end of the ZIP file don’t indicate whether a Connected Package is receiving course updates. That suffix is only used to identify downloaded package versions, but Connected Packages manage their version information in the cloud.

The filename itself doesn’t determine whether updates are applied, so a different suffix won’t prevent your multiple LMSs from receiving them.

Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
