SCORM size and Moodle

Greetings!

Our group is currently moving from one Moodle site to Moodle Workplace. In so doing, we have had to move several of our courses.

In the past, I've noticed that Moodle can't handle SCORM packages that are too big. They fail to track a student's completion of lessons within the module, and it causes a lot of problems.

In the future, I will build with this in mind. However, I am currently porting over many courses I did not build and was not involved with whatsoever. For these courses, I've noticed that if I back up the Moodle course from one site and restore it to the other, everything is fine, but if I download the SCORM package and upload it, I will run into the same issues with SCORM packages that are too big.

Has anyone else experienced similar challenges? Any wisdom to impart?

  • For large courses you can override the scorm 1.2 standards in the scorm settings for Moodle should fix mosts issues with large courses
