Selecting text moves keyboard focus to Font Name field
Hi,
I’m having an issue in Storyline where, when I select text inside a text box, the formatting toolbar appears and the focus moves to the Font Name field.
So if I select some text and press Delete, Backspace, or start typing to replace it, it edits the font name instead of the selected text.
This happens consistently and is making text editing quite difficult.
Has anyone else seen this, or knows if there’s a fix/workaround?

Thanks for reporting this. I tested the behavior in the latest version of Storyline 360 using both mouse and keyboard text selection. In my testing, the selected text retained focus, so typing, pressing the Spacebar, or using Delete or Backspace affected the selected text rather than the Font Name field.
While the formatting toolbar may appear when text is selected, keyboard focus shouldn’t automatically move to the Font Name field.
Could you help us narrow this down by confirming the following?
- What exact version of Storyline 360 are you using? You can find the full build number under Help > About Storyline.
- Does this behavior occur across all the projects you’ve tested, or only in a particular project? If it appears limited to one project, does it also happen in a new blank project?
- Could you share a short screen recording that begins before you select the text and shows how you make the selection, followed by what happens when you press Delete, Backspace, Space, or begin typing?
