Setting a text box as the default doesn't hold settings.
Seems like this issue has been around for at least 7 years. Wonder if it will ever get fixed.
I create a text box, apply the settings as shown in the picture (also attached). Right click the resulting text box and select "Set as Default Text Box", but then when I create a new text box, the scroll bars are there on overflow instead of allowing the box to overflow. Am I missing something or is this just a bug that's been ignored?

It's been a year, and I'm still having this same issue. Maybe I do not understand what "Set as default Text Box" actually does. It is time-consuming to have to go in and reset how you want a text box to behave every time you insert one on a slide or layer. If I use a placeholder in the slide master, it seems to work, but I do not always wish to use slides with placeholders.
Hi, BarryHollembeak!
Thanks for reaching out about this. I understand how time-consuming it can be to reset text boxes each time you insert one. Currently, the font and text size are the items that remain when you choose set as default. I've shared your comments with our product team, so we'll let you know if we have news. If you have any other feedback, please don't hesitate to share with us here!
