Setting Custom Start/End Times for YouTube Videos (Via Link, Not File)

I have several YouTube links to videos that I have within my course, but I need them to start and end at specific times.  I found this discussion: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/editing-stsrt-stop-times-for-embedded-youtube-videos and inserted the start/end time embed code, but it is not working, it is simply playing the video in its entirety which I do not want.  What am I doing wrong?

Here is the YouTube link for one of the videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0x0ajyefTLM

I want to only show from 1:25-1:33.  I copied the embed code from the YouTube video and then added the start and end times from the discussion board comments listed above.  Please help!

Embed code example I added into Storyline: <iframe width="1280" height="720" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0x0ajyefTLM" title="YouTube video player" start="85&end=93&rel=0&amp;controls=1&amp;cc_load_policy=1&amp;autoplay=1" frameborder="0" "="" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>

  • Hi, Kelly.

    Thank you for reaching out!

You can add the video as a web object, using the following embed URL (add /embed/ before the code, then ?start=85&end=93):

    Windows 10 (1) 2021-12-08 at 12.28.05 PM

    I hope this helps!

  • Hi Maria,

Thanks so much for the quick reply.  I did everything above, published, but still showing the full video. What am I missing? Thanks again!

  • So that worked, yay, but on a few of the web objects, they don't even play when published through Review 360 even though the test links are working within Storyline.  I moved the object to the front, ensured the object wasn't hidden, etc.  Anyone else experience this?  Really appreciate the help!

      Hi Kelly!

Have you tried publishing for web? If so, are the videos not playing in that environment either?

If you can share the .story file, we are happy to take a look! You can attach it to this discussion or upload it privately in a support case.
