Shapes moving out of alignment in preview mode
I have shapes nicely aligned in the normal view (stacked rectangles to make a gauge) but when I preview it, they are all akilter. This also happens to some other shapes I have stacked. When it is previwed, the top shape is moved over somewhat, exposing what is below. Any suggestions on preventing this?

Please let me know if this is ever resolved. I have had this problem with multiple slides and objects and it is super frustrating. Everything moves in preview mode and some things are impossible to align even using the alignment tools.

Not sure if this has already been discussed or ruled out, but I had another spot of alignment trouble between production and live, especially with super busy slides, and locking the objects helped me out.

Thank you - I will try this and see if it helps!

Is there a solution to this issue? Noticing comments are from years ago, yet it still is happening.

So sorry for the delay. I just submitted the file securely through a support ticket.
Thanks!

Hi, I have the same issue. I created an activity where certain words and punctuation are hidden using a white rectangle. The student has to click on the rectangle and make the right choice to reveal the word or punctuation hidden under the rectangle. In this activity, it is important that the rectangles stay where I have put them, so that the words and punctuation stay hidden. Unfortunately, when I preview it, some of the rectangles are well out of place. The words and punctuation are thus revealed, defeating the point of the activity.
I have attached my file for anyone willing to take a look. I will also submit a case. Thanks!

Georvy from Support helped me rectify the issue. I imported all the required slides on to a new Storyline file and the rectangles stayed where they were supposed to. Georvy said my original file might have become corrupted for a variety of reasons. Importing slides into a new file seems to be a relatively painless workaround.
I'm glad that you were able to work with the support team as well, Aju. I appreciate you chiming in to share an update, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. π

10 years later, I am still having the same problem.

Same problem. My slide worked fine when created and initially previewed, but suddenly now they are shifted out of place in the preview. Still looks fine in the SL file.
Hi Vanessa!
Unfortunately, it is difficult to determine the snag without seeing the course. Can you share it with us either in this discussion or privately in a support case?
