Silly question... where's the keyboard shortcut for "insert image"

I'm tired of dragging my mouse all over the screen to insert images... I have thousands of images to go.  My mouse hand is going to wear out.  Surely there's a keyboard shortcut like CTR+SHIFT+I or something?

I've done google searches and powerpoint help searches and I must be blind.  I can't find it.

Help please!

Thanks everybody.

Jim

PS I know I can download short-cut program add-ins but presenter (powerpoint?) crashes so much as it is, I'd rather not take chances with another add-in.

  • Although not a true shortcut you can invoke the menus in PowerPoint via the keyboard and insert a picture by using [ALT], I, P, F

i use this method a lot for Paste Special too [ALT] , E, S

You can also import a whole bunch of images in one go on a single slide, and then copy paste them with shortcuts (CTRL-C / CTRL-V) where you need them in your project

Mike, thanks.  They keyboard shortcuts don't work though in Powerpoint 2010 for ALT+I...

as soon as I use that key combo it insert a drawing object (horizontal bar).

I'll just have to download some sort of keystroke recorder. Thanks.

  • Sorry Jim, I was away from my PC when I answered and when I just checked it is actually ALT, N, P on the keyboard in PPT 2010 to insert an image. (That's what I get for trying to answer from my obviously faulty memory!)

Thanks, it doesn't quite work but that's a problem on my end with other program that I think have hijacked that particular key sequence.... I'll see if I can kill it.

    thanks

keep press ALT and on other hand  push button "I" and then again "I" and then "U" so you will see a pop up to insert the image thanks
