SL 360: LMS publishing error messages, caused by the cursor
Greetings,
I encountered 2 problems when publishing Storyline 360 courses and both were related to the cursor you can add and animate on slides. The courses have to be published in SCORM 1.2, exceptionally.
- While on a prior version (October 2024, I think???), SL gave me error messages while encoding, because the software could not find the sound effect for "the cursor clicking". By selecting to "no click" on the cursor, the course could then be published normally. I do think it's weird that Storyline is missing this sound effect.
- While on version 3.97 (February 25th, 2025), SL now gives me error messages for simply having the cursor on specific slides. By removing it completely, the course could be published as normal. Please note that any course that were published before the February update... can still be published normally, despite having cursors in some slides (with no sound effect). Also, the error messages weren't telling me the actual reason why the cursor was problematic, compared to it explaining how the sound effect was missing.
Is there a compatibility problem with the cursor in recent versions?
Thanks in advance :)

Hi Jean-Christo203,
I'm unaware of any compatibility issues with cursors on older Storyline 360 project files, but I'm happy to check what's happening! Would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or privately by opening a support case for testing? We'll delete it when we're done!
