Slide colours are grey

Hi everyone,

So this is clearly something we've done, but we can't quite figure out what. Our slide colours have turned to grey. We have tried resetting the image, and making sure there's no recolour. It shows fine in preview but it's just a bit frustrating. ANy help would be appreciated. I'm sure it's a setting we've accidentally turned on...

  • I don't see a problem in the image you attached. The gray is the area around the visible portion of the slide.

In your example, the background of the slide is a shade of blue. (It's impossible to tell from the picture whether the background color was changed, or if there's a slide-sized colored shape under the other objects.)

The default background is white. Thus, the gray used for the surrounding area helps indicate the edges of the visible slide.

Sorry, I've only just figured out how to see my own posts! The images on the blur background are grey - they should be coloured and are coloured in preview. I've attached an image of the preview so you can see what I mean.

  • Thanks for clarifying that it's the images (not the slide itself) that you were asking about.

It looks like you have the Initial State of the images set to Hidden.

When you set any object's Initial State to Hidden, the program grays the object. That makes the object still visible to you, the developer, while also indicating that it starts invisible to the user. Nothing to worry about.

If those images don't have an Initial State of Hidden (or some other state that remove the color), I suggest you upload a file with a copy of that slide for troubleshooting.

Ah, I feel like such an idiot. Yes, they're set to hidden to start :-)

    Thank you!
