Slide replays instead of going to next slide
I have a slide. It contains a video clip and a rectangle that is set to go to next slide when the user clicks. It also has a trigger to pause the slide (at 2 seconds) so the user has time to click.
What happens when the user clicks the rectangle, then the video on the same slide replays instead of going to next slide. It's just starting the slide over from the beginning instead of proceeding.
I've also tried to change the trigger to say it goes to slide 1.8 specifically instead of just next slide, but either way the same behavior occurs.
Must you have the user click to advance? Why not drop in a "placeholder" slide (with the click to advance rectangle, or similar) immediately after the video, and have that slide with the video auto-advance to the placeholder?

What's on the next slide? Perhaps there's something there that jumps back to the slide with the video clip?
Troubleshooting is just guessing without seeing all the programming. Someone might be able to solve the issue if you upload the .story file. Here are the best practices for doing that:
- Only include slides that are related to the problem.
- Be sure objects, layers, motion paths, and variables have meaningful names.
- If there is proprietary content, replace or delete it. For example, replace proprietary text with “ipsum lorem” text.

Can you upload a sanitized version of your .story file here? There are several ways that could happen. For instance, there might be a second trigger somewhere that is activated before the "Jump to 1.8" trigger.

I figured a workaround, which was to change the trigger on the video slide to go to next slide after the timeline ends, and I put a screencap of the video's last frame on the next slide and put my rectangle there. Same as JHauglie suggested.
