Social Media Button

Hey all!

Our team would love to know if there's a way to add a social media share button in our Rise courses. Would be awesome for badge-sharing. Thanks!

  • The relatively new Storyline block should help you achieve this (after creating the button interaction in Storyline, of course 😄)

Thanks for the response. So we're looking for a way our users can share their badges on Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. We host our courses in Totara. How could we do this with the button interaction? Thanks!

I'm stepping away from my desk for the rest of the day.  I'll be happy to look into this tomorrow.

  • Hey Jen.  I think I may have a solution for you.  If you would like to walk-through the process, please feel free to send me a private email via the Contact Me option.

      Hi Daniel.

If you have a solution, why not share it with the community?

I’d like to have Jen test it in her LMS (Totara) to ensure it’ll work after all. I’d hate to give others false hope should it not work.

Hello, following up on this, is it possible to share an image of completion/badge to social media by clicking an Instagram / Twitter / FB / LinkedIn button?

      Hi Thomas. Hi Karl.

A lot has happened since this thread was created and I've completely lost track of it. Apologies.

Here is the idea I shared with Jenn: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/e3f99f73-b2dc-4b20-9c6f-8f9e5eeba690/review

To present users with this sharing option, I do leverage a third-party app (site, really) called Openbadges.me.

At the time of this response, the app/site offers four different payment plans:

For testing purposes, the Free version worked just fine. Of course, you lose out on key reporting and branding options, to name just a few.

With the help of the Web Object feature in SL, it may be possible to have the user access the site and go through the steps entirely within the flow of the course, but I never have good luck using Web Objects...perhaps you may have a better go at it.

      Cheers,

      Daniel
