Speed up video in Storyline?
Is there a way to speed up video in storyline? I am creating a software tutorial and my screen recordinga are really painful because it takes so long for they typing. Can I speed up sections of the video so the viewer doesnt have to pull their hair out waiting for me to hunt and pack across the keyboard?

Hey Alyssa,
Thanks for the quick response.
I am not exactly looking for outside storyline options nor video editing feature.
Can we able to embed this option to video toolbar? so that we can opt different speed for different videos in each slide.
Guys, please suggest me some ideas!!
Hi Raju,
I can certainly pass along the idea to our product development team! Here's an inside look at how we manage feature requests once we receive them. If this feature gets added to a future update of Storyline, I'll let you know. 🙂

Hi!
This would definitely be a very nice feature.
Also, when you export a video and set it to its highest compression, it still gets compressed quite a bit. Is there a way to get a near lossless export? (I am using it for video tutorials for software and adding some captions in Storyline.)
Thank you!
Hi Liezl,
You can turn off compression altogether for MP4 videos created with baseline, main, or high profiles. (All other videos will be compressed automatically.)
- Select the video placeholder and go to the Options tab on the Storyline ribbon.
- Click the Compression drop-down list and choose None.
If you turn off video compression, be aware that your published files will be larger, which could be problematic for learners with slow internet connections.

Hi, Ashley Terwilliger and Alyssa Gomez
It would be a great feature if articulate would provide Playspeed option (1x,2x,3x) in player button so that student can learn more fastly or according to their capability of grasping things.
so please pass on this feedback to your production team Happy to pass it along, Himanshu. Thanks for sharing your voice here.

Hi Ashley, would also like to see a play speed option as described by Himanshu. This is a request we've received from customers and I think it would be a nice feature to have available. Thanks!

Agreed. It seems to me that this should be a video editing feature.

While Storyline is awaiting this upgrade, here's what I currently do.
I open the video here to slow it down: https://ezgif.com/The downside is that you are unable to speed up or slow down just a portion of a video and leave the rest playing at normal speed. So, what I do is trim it to the part I need at a different speed before changing the speed. The downside is that I have multiple video files on my Storyline slide but it's the best easy workaround I have encountered at the moment.
Hope this helps all who are also waiting for additional/upgraded Storyline native video and audio editing capabilities.
Cheers!

Has there been any updates on adding preferential speed to the videos for the learner?
