State Change and Relative Position

Hello,

I have set up a triggered state change for an object.  The state change is that the object is moved to a new location on the slide.  The object will be moved by the user during a drag-and-drop PRIOR to the state change.  When previewing the  slide, I see that when the state change takes place, the object has moved to a new position relative to where the user dropped it, NOT relative to where it originally started prior to the drag-and-drop.  Is it possible to set a state change involving movement to act in absolute terms instead of relative, so that the object lands exactly where I want it to, instead of a random location based on where the user dropped it?

Thank you,
Karen I. W.

  • Yes, you can if you have an exact static location in mind. Give the object a line motion path using the coordinates you want as the start point, and a length of 0. Then move the object on that path when it is dropped. Make sure it isn't set to a relative start point.
