Storm animation in Storyline
I recently saw a training where the author created a simple storm animation. I can figure out the lightning, but can not figure out how they did the rain drops in water puddles? Has anyone here created this type of animation?

Storyline has no issue displaying movies and animated gifs so it could've been one of those on repeat. Particle effects are possible but seem to require a lot of effort and programming know-how.
Are you able to describe what you saw in greater detail? Were there a handful of droplet shapes falling onto a blue oval? Did the puddle grow? Were there secondary droplets that appeared to come out of the puddle to simulate a splash effect?

Could you share the animation?

I don't know if you are after something simple with Storyline objects, or something more realistic. Here is a sample link to a generated script that displays a storm on a canvas. This is outside of Storyline, but could be adapted fairly easily to display inside a Storyline slide object (either under or over other objects, or simply inside a web object). It includes numerous customization options, and can be made transparent to overlay other content. Play with it.

Thanks everyone for your help. I was able to do it with just regular entrance and movement animations combined with looping the layer. I think I was over thinking it.
