I'm adding alt text to the images in the media library by going to the media library and selecting the image, adding the alt text in the box, clicking the apply to all, closing the media library and ...
I never got an answer. I had to add the alt text from the slide. I went slow, saved a lot and closed and got back in a lot.
I had to do the same :(
