Storyline File Corrupt and Will Not Open

Hello,

I was working in Articulate Storyline 2 when I saved my .Story file, then published it. After publishing it, I went to re-save it, and the file would no longer save. I attempted to click "Save As" and save it under a new name, but that also would not work.

I exited the program, knowing that I had saved my latest changes before publishing it and assuming it would be fine, but when I attempted to open the file again, I get the attached error message and my file won't open.

Do you have any suggestions for how to resolve this?

  • Hi I am having the same issue and have just lost two days of work. Storyline offered me a list of autosaves and I chose the latest one but it actually only has the original file I started with - two days ago. I've followed the steps above and found 18 temporary files. I renamed the latest one .story but when I doubleclick it storyline still won't open it - my system is still treating it as a .tmp file even though I've force changed the file extension. Please help?!

  • Hi Jo,

Sorry to hear about your project file.
