One advantage that Storyline has for presentations is that you can include the Menu in the top bar, which would make it available, but without keeping the entire Menu on screen all the time. That lets the presenter easily jump to any slide at any time. Plus you can program more complex interactions.
However, Storyline doesn't have presenter-mode like PowerPoint does. If you display the "Notes" in Storyline, they're part of the Player, so the students would see them.
FYI: I've also people use Rise for their presentations. However, like Storyline, Rise doesn't have a presenter-mode.
