Storyline Pretest to determine which sections to complete
Hello! Could one essentially use a pre-test as a solution for this issue i have? I'm making 1 onboarding course for clients. We have 4 products. Each client may not carry all 4. They may have varying combinations. At the start, I want them to select the products they have, click continue and take only the relevant sections as a result of their choice. I've started experimenting with this using variables. Wondering if pretest would work, if there's something else I'm missing, or if this idea won't work with SL360. Thanks!
Yes! Divide the course into scenes for each product. Create a true/false
variable for each product with an initial value of false. In your situation
you would probably want one multiple response question (Check all the
products you have.) Add triggers for a check on a product answer to set the
corresponding variable to True. On your "Results" slide, set trigger to go
to Scene 1 if variable 1 is true, go to scene 2 if variable 2 is true, go
to scene 3 if variable 3 is true, go to scene 4 if variable 4 is true (In
that order so as soon as it hits a true it never checks the others.) At
the end of scene 1 set a trigger to go to scene 2 if variable 2 is true, go
to scene 3 if variable 3 is true, go to scene 4 if variable 4 is true.
Continue like this (end of each scene will have one less trigger.)
