Storyline Quiz Results - Only Reporting 1st Attempt Results in LMS
I built a quiz in storyline 360. The quiz is setup so that the user is given one Retry (1 additional attempt). In Storyline reporting is setup as Scorm 1.2, passed/failed.
LMS is recording only the first pass/fail and not the second pass/fail. In other words:
1. If user pass on the first try, LMS records the pass. GREAT!
2. If user fails on the first try, LMS records the failure. GREAT!
3. If user fails on the first try, and fails on the second try, the second failure is not reporting, only the first failure is reported.
4. If user fails on the first try and then passes on the second try, the failure from the first try is recorded in LMS and not the pass. The pass should be reported.
What is causing this issue and how do I fix it? Please provide step by step instructions to fix because I am lost at this point. Thanks

Fail is often the point some LMSs stop recording results. This is why attempts is better managed in the LMS rather than the course. Have you tested in scormcloud does the same thing happen?

Fail typically stops the LMS accepting another score, I would try Passed/incomplete

Tried passed/incomplete and it looks like the LMS records the pass but not the incomplete. After the 2nd attempt i would like to see the incomplete recorded in the LMS on the history page. Any other suggestions Phil?
Completed/Failed is working - Finally problem resolved! OMG! After months of trial and error!
I hope this post helps others who are struggling for answers!
If the user passes the quiz on the first attempt, a completion is recorded in the LMS which is perfect! When the user fails on the first attempt, they can click the retry button to try again and the first failure attempt result is not recorded which is great. On the second attempt the completion or incompletion is recorded in the LMS based on if the user passed on the second attempt or failed. If they pass a completion is recorded and if they fail an incompletion is recorded in the LMS.
Scorm 1.2
Added triggers:
-Failure layer = Submit results when the timeline ends on this layer if attempts value = 1
-Success layer = Submit results when the time ends on this layer
Added object triggers:
-Exit course button = Submit results when user clicks the Exit Course button
-Retry button - disable after 1 attempt.
-Reset results when user clicks on the retry button (retry only incorrect questions)
-Review button (to review questions and correct/ incorrect answers)
