Storyline Text Data to LMS
The user will have to visit the results slide but it could be styled t look like any slide
Thanks again for your assistance, Phil. I've now done exactly this and still have a challenge with data being sent to the LMS. On the quiz settings, I assumed I need to tick/select the buttons shown below in order for this to work. However, when I select all 12 Essays, the user is then not able to type into the text entry and they become stuck on that slide. If I keep them as shown below, the user can type but I assume data is not sent to the LMS. I'll keep looking for a solution. Thanks.

Hi Andrew35,
Thanks for reaching out! I understand you are using SCORM 2004 format for your course. As a reference, this is the information that is sent to the LMS with that formatting. As PhilMayor mentioned, it is important to have the Results Slide included to track the essay questions in the LMS.
- What LMS are you currently using? It's important to know how the LMS reports the data as it is specific to the LMS.
- Have you tested your course with SCORM Cloud? I'm curious if the essay responses get reported in that environment.
- If the same problem is happening in SCORM Cloud, we will then want to take a closer look at your .story file to investigate further. You can share the file in this thread or privately in a support case.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hello. I've sent a note to the support line and also included a basic mock-up of my course where the same thing is happening.
My LMS is Cornerstone, but I'm not able to test any output yet because I need to ensure the course is sending data. As mentioned, I assume the boxes shown above must be ticked for this to happen but then my course doesn't work. I'm hoping it's something very simple I've not done. Thanks.

It breaks because you visit the results slide first, either set it so they visit after completing the questions or reset the slides to initial state.

Yes you need to check them, did you change the variables? They should only get locked when a user completesd them but you can fix that by changing the revisting pproperties

Yes I did change the variable names but the quiz results screen is still picking up the 12 Essays. I did a mock-up of the course to send to Support (see below) because that does exactly the same thing without changing the variable names.

IT is because you visit the results slide first, I would hide the results slide somewhere else.
But, you can fix by setting the slides to reset to initial state
