Support for Google Docs and Slides
Hello,
I am wondering if Articulate is in the process of or has plans to add support for Google Docs and Slides. Our company is moving away from Office and we really need the ability to import and export to file types other than PowerPoint. I am sorry if this question has been asked before.
Thanks,
Scott

Welcome to the community, Scott!
I’d love to let our team know about this suggestion — and I’m curious to know more. Would you mind telling me a little more about why the need for support for Google Docs and Slides would come in handy for you? What type of scenario would you use it in?
I'd be happy to attach your insight to the feature request Miker created on your behalf, so we can share it our product team. And if you're interested, here's how we manage feature requests! ☺️
In the meantime, perhaps inserting the URL via web object could be an option? I'll be standing by!

I'm an instructional designer and my company recently migrated to Goggle. I was using PowerPoint with Articulate add ins prior to the migration. However, that functionality does not exist in Google slides which leaves me handicap, to a great degree. I cannot use Engage or any of the other Articulate features with Google slides. Being that Google slides is a presentation tool and not an authoring tool, pales in comparison to using PowerPoint and the Articulate add ins. It would be great if Articulate could give Google slides a "Power Boost"!!!

Katie, our company has "Gone Google". In our shop, we only use Google Docs, not MS Word. We want the option to download a storyboard copy, but the only way to do that is through MS Word. Will you have other options in the future we can choose from?
Hey, Jeff. Thanks for adding your voice!
Ah, interesting. Have you tried opening a storyboard template (.pptx or .docx) in Google Docs and then inserting it as a Web Object in Storyline? Here's a sample of the output! Let me know if I misunderstood anything there–we'll try to find a workaround together!
In the meantime, I shared your insights with our product team, so you should receive an email confirmation regarding Google Docs support shortly. While we don't have any news to share at this time, you're certainly in the right place for when/if we do! Thanks again, and looking forward to hearing back ☺️

No. When you publish, you have the ability to publish as a Word Document.
We do not have MS Word so we can publish that. There must be an alternative
in a document form for us to publish (like a pdf or a Google Sheet format.)

I think (may be wrong) that Jeff wants to be able to publish to Google docs the same way you can publish to word, you can upload a copy of the word documents to Google Docs, but if you do not have Word installed you cannot publish to word, as a lot of organisations are switching to Google Docs this means they have to persuade IT to let them have word to be able to publish to Word.
Ah, I see now. Thanks for clarifying that, Jeff! Phil was spot-on 🌟
I've attached this extra detail to your request. We really appreciate hearing how we can make things better for all our users, so please keep the thoughts coming!

Hi All,
Has there been an update on this question or any system updates. We are making the switch to Google and as far as I can tell there is no Articulate add-on for Google Slides.
Hi Lisa and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
You are correct. We do not have this compatibility within our software. I connected some dots with some feature requests that have been filed so that we can see the users requesting this.
I've attached this conversation to the report as well so that we can update you here with any news.

Hi Leslie,
Is an update on this feature request available? We would like to import Google Slides into Articulate 360 projects.
Thanks,
Hi Lynn!
I'm happy to help!
Here's how to import Google Slides into either Storyline 360 or Presenter 360:
- In Google Slides, choose to Download as Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Import the downloaded PowerPoint file into Storyline 360 or Presenter 360.
Please let me know if you run into any trouble!

Hi Lauren,
I am trying to do this now. I keep getting an error message that it can not be loaded. Google converts to a .pptx file. is there an additional step or something that I am missing?
Hello Ken!
I'm happy to help. Here are the steps in Google Slides. Then, start a new project in Storyline 360, go to File, Import, and then select PowerPoint.
Let me know if you have additional questions!

So, no ability to embed articulate into a Google Slide?
Hello Jennifer,
If Google Slides has the ability to allow embedded content, then you should be able to grab the URL from your web-hosted published output.
I look forward to hearing from others in the community that may have set this up in their presentations.
