Support for Google Docs and Slides

Hello,

I am wondering if Articulate is in the process of or has plans to add support for Google Docs and Slides. Our company is moving away from Office and we really need the ability to import and export to file types other than PowerPoint. I am sorry if this question has been asked before.

Thanks,

Scott

  • H'mmm.... our company has just made the decision to transition to Google Workspace. Currently, we (our Education Department) use the Presenter add-on to PowerPoint to publish our files as Web-viewable HTML5 packages.

Can we do this with Google Slides? This is key to our ability to make use of Presenter; we do not want to use a Web hosted solution, because our LMS won't work with it.

    Do you have any suggestions?

  • I'd like to add to the list of people who need to have the Articulate tools work with Google. I was very excited about Presenter 360 until I realized I can't use it. My company only uses Google and I don't have access to PowerPoint (or any MS Office tool), so the instructions above to download my Google slides to PowerPoint and then import to Presenter 360 don't work for me because I can't download to PowerPoint.

With Google tools becoming more widespread I really hope Articulate has a plan to begin supporting these tools soon.

      Hi Gerda,

Embedding Google Slides in Rise 360 is already supported if this is something you're interested in checking out. Here's how:

      1. Publish your Google Slides by following this article, making sure to copy the embed code of the published output.
      2. In Rise 360, add a Multimedia Embed block and paste in the code generated from Step 1.

And that's it! the embed block will now display your Google Slides presentation when the course is previewed or published.

      Hope this helps!

        Hi Mr Tansengco--

This is not what I (at least) had in mind -- I am looking for a way to do
*in* Google Slides what Articulate Presenter currently does in PowerPoint.
My company is removing support for Microsoft Office, so Presenter in
PowerPoint will no longer be an option.

        Thank you.

  • Hi, Dan'l!

Thank you for clarifying what you're looking to achieve. We're currently tracking a request for Support for Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets.  I’ll go ahead and include your voice and we’ll update this discussion if this feature makes it on our feature roadmap.

We have also moved away from Microsoft products and I don't have them on my computer. How do I download a storyboard to Google Docs if the only option is Word in the Publish menu? As this is how we previously archived completed training content, we are looking for an alternative way to do this with Google apps.  I also tried to download a Slides file as a PPT. I can't open the file on my computer since no Office apps.

Like others on this thread, Mm company has removed the Microsoft suite from our computers. I cannot download to Word.

This is an important feature that is needed because we need to have storyboards for the courses we create. In my company, we often have 3rd parties come in for regulatory checks on the courses and they need to be able to see an overview of the course.

Rise already solves this issue by publishing directly to PDFs.
