Table on layer being read on base layer

Morning
Having an issue with NVDA reading a 'ghost' table on the base layer.
I have a single screen with multiple layers linking from that in a linear way.
On one of these layers is a standard table which is read correctly when arrowing through the content.
Once all the layers have been read and the user returns to the base layer the screen reader announces the table again, but no other content on any of the other layers?
Has anyone else had this?
Latest version of Storyline, NVDA V2025.3.0.52596 viewing in Edge browser.
Thanks

  • Hi GilesCulkin-1d3,

Thanks for flagging this! It sounds like the table’s layer content may still be exposed to NVDA after it’s hidden, which isn’t expected. Before we take a closer look, could you try these quick checks?

    • Check layer settings: On the layer with the table, open the Layer Properties and make sure “Hide other slide layers” and “Hide objects on base layer” are both selected.
    • Test in another browser: Try previewing or publishing and testing in Chrome to see if NVDA still reads the table after returning to the base layer.

If the issue continues, please share your Storyline file through our support form so we can test it directly and see what’s happening.

  • Thanks for the reply.
Layer properties are all the same with both of those checked. Same behaviour in Chrome and Firefox so have submitted a case. Thanks
