Take Zoom off pictures in RISE?
Hi,
When using pre built lesson "process" and you insert an image how can you get ride of the zoom function for the image?
I know how to do this in blocks but can't find how to do this in 'process'.
Thanks
Ant
Hello everyone, 🎉
I'm happy to let you know we released a new update for Rise 360. This update allows you to turn off image zooming on Timeline and Labeled Graphic blocks. We'll let you know if this feature is also applied to other blocks. There's nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available, though you might need to export your Rise 360 course again.
Let me know if you have any questions about this update or the new enhancement!

+1 - this would ESPECIALLY be helpful from an accessibility standpoint. What I'm experiencing when reviewing Rise courseware with JAWS is that I can set a null value for images, as instructed in this Articulate instructive article, but JAWS still calls out the Zoom control and sometimes the graphic itself as simply "Graphic" (IOW JAWS is calling out the graphical object without a name as it has a null value). This can be extremely confusing to learners who use programs such as JAWS.

+1 Yes, please give us the agility to turn zoom off on these interactions!

+1 Agree, please let us turn this off. Or even set default to be able to zoom to OFF for all images throughout the course we are creating. Opting IN to a zoom function per image would be much better.

+1 for learners using a screen reader, it's a real issue to still have the zoom option on images inserted in a quizz. Please notify when the change will be done.

Are we able to disable zoom on images in knowledge checks and questions now? It seems the feature request was made 3 years ago.

+1 for this request.

+1 for this request as well. It is difficult to make inclusive, accessible courses without this basic ability

Latest update still hasn't resolved this issue which is a shame. I get around it by adding the image and text e.g., the knowledge check question, in a space above the knowledge check. The knowledge check question then only presents the answer options.

To echo others in this thread, from an accessibility standpoint, the ability to turn off the zoom feature is essential. Not only is it an annoying button to have to keep tabbing past, but it's also confusing for users if the image is presumably decorative and should be ignored by a screen reader. Right now, our workaround has been to simply include "decorative" as the alt text so that if a user hears the button read aloud, they will at least know they're not missing important information that has only been included as a visual element. But this is not an ideal solution - as suggested by Peter Axtell, the default should be zoom OFF for all images throughout the course; opting IN to a zoom function per image would be much better. It is misleading when you claim that Rise sets images to decorative, or alt="", by default, given that this button is annouced. Big miss here that has been an active concern going on six years, based on this thread!

Have the quiz structure blocks been changed yet to allow us to toggle on/off the image zoom? We see that timeline and labeled graphic blocks have been improved, but we still don't seem to have capability to toggle off zoom on images that are in quizzes and knowledge checks.
