Text formatting in Rise Table

I am experiencing formatting issues in several tables in a Rise course.  Some of my cells have excessive white space between lines and at the bottom of the cell.  I can't figure out how to fix - can anyone help?

See the spacing in the highlighted section of the attachment.

    Hi Christine

    are you typing the information in or copy/pasting from somewhere?

      Copying and pasting. I guess I need to go in and retype? That’s the way our software works anyway. Should have guessed!

        Try copy/paste to notepad to remove any paragraph or spacing formats and then copy paste from notepad to SL - that may work for you

  • Hi Christine!

    If you're still having trouble, try highlighting the text in the cell and clicking the Clear Formatting button. Let us know if that solves it!

      Ooh I've never noticed that clear format icon Alyssa - good tip and Happy New Year!

        Well the clear formatting didn’t work, but the copy to notepad and paste back in did – but only when I created a fresh row. The formatting from the original row seemed to hold.

        Thanks!

    I think it's due to hidden spaces.  I stacked a number of tables with text between, and it was terrible.

    To resolve the problem, I did this;

    • Split them into separate paragraphs
    • Went to the last word in the last cell, and pressed the -> key, which took the cursor to the outside edge of the table.
    • Held my delete key down, which deleted the hidden spaces.

    I had to repeat this for each row on one of the tables.

  • I'm having this same issue with bulleted lists inside of my tables. The table stretches on forever because the spacing is so liberal. None of the suggestions above seemed to work. Any suggestions, or is this an unfortunate part of bulleted lists?

      Hi Jaclyn, there is an extra space added to bulleted lists even for those that aren't in a table.  There isn't a way to remove this extra space right now. I submitted this as a feature request on your behalf, and I'll share updates here if we make any changes that will help!
