Thai language in Storyline
Hello,
Storyline doesn't yet support "Thai" as a language. (It's not included among the languages in Player > Text Labels.) Will this by any chance get added in the next months to year?
Is it possible to publish a course with Thai characters nevertheless? (More specifically, I will want to import a Thai translation of an existing English course into Storyline and am not sure if the lack of Thai in the Text Labels menu will make this impossible.)
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steven,
Please feel free to add a feature request for Thai.
As for creating and saving your own text labels for Thai, here's a great tutorial:

Hello, I am also looking into needing to translate courses in Thai in Storyline. Steven, did you have any luck importing Thai into Storyline?

Hi Sarah,
I haven't officially done the translation process for Thai; we're finishing up the English version and will then export the course to Word for the translators. However, I did do a test to see what would happen. I plugged some of the content into Google Translate for Thai and then imported back into Storyline... and it seemed to work fine.
The issue will be around the Player labels since Storyline doesn't yet have Thai as a language - so we'll have to translate those separately.

Hello!
I am having a hard time with Thai and Hindi languages in Storyline 360. The fonts do not display properly (upper tone marks disappear in Thai). When I developed Thai and Hindi projects in Stroryline 2 everything was fine. However, the new version of Storyline employs html5 format which has never worked properly with these languages. I tried publishing "flash only", it did not solve the problem. It does not seem like there is a way to convert A360 file into Storyline 2? What can I do?
Thanks!
An update: I tested my old Thai files from Storyline 2 converted into A360, and they get messed up, both html and html5 do not display characters properly anymore.
Hi there, Vera. I can see what you're saying-- those upper tone marks seem to be getting squished down on top of the marks over the characters. Is this happening after importing a translation? Do you see this in both Preview and published output?
We would love to be able to help you out with this. Can you submit a case to our support engineers and attach your file? Let us know what font you're using as well so that we can try to replicate your setup. Thank you for reaching out!

Hi Crystal,
Thank you for getting back to me!
This only occurs in a published project. The font displays correctly when
working in Storyline. I will submit one of the older projects which was
previously published in Storyline 2, so you can compare the performance of
it with that of the updated version. Thanks!
Hey Vera - Thanks for sharing the details with Vevette and sharing your case number here.
Crystal is out of the office for a few days, but I'll be sure to follow along.

I am publishing a project in multiple languages and am having issues with Thai running in HTML5. I am developing in Storyline 2. All other languages are running fine in HTML5 including Japanese, Taiwanese and Korean. You can see all of the languages here: http://kdg.com/projects/Align/Restorative_1_5/ To view in HTML5, select a language and add story_html5.html to the URL.
I've tried adding the language to my computer's OS and republishing but am getting the same results. You can see the courses title in Thai on the browser tab but Articulate just spins and never loads.
Does anyone have any insights?
Thanks,
Lynette
Hi Lynette,
Thanks for sharing the link. I can definitely see how the Thai HTML5 content never loads.
Could you share your file with our Support team so we can take a closer look? And if you'll let me know your case number, I'll follow along as well.
