Thai language in Storyline
Hello,
Storyline doesn't yet support "Thai" as a language. (It's not included among the languages in Player > Text Labels.) Will this by any chance get added in the next months to year?
Is it possible to publish a course with Thai characters nevertheless? (More specifically, I will want to import a Thai translation of an existing English course into Storyline and am not sure if the lack of Thai in the Text Labels menu will make this impossible.)

I wanted to let you know I popped in to check on your case. It looks like Renato was able to import the slides into a new Storyline file, and the Storyline published output is now loading. I'm glad you got it all sorted out!

I am working with the file now. I went in to the player to clean up the menu and turn on the seek bar. Then I did a save as, went back into the player and added Thai labels for the Next, Previous, Menu and Transcript (Notes). I think that is what is corrupting the SL player. That version is not displaying again but the previous version with the English player labels is. I wanted to let everyone know to be very careful if you are trying to manual change the label language in the player with a language that is not currently supported, like Thai. Best to keep those labels in English and remove the labels for the Next and Previous button which will then display < and >.

I also published the same course in Chinese, Japanese and Korean as well as European languages. I had to install the Korean fonts to my system to make that language work. I had no problems with the other languages using the drop down menu to select the language for the SL player to display.

Can I just ask in regards to Thai, were all text labels an issue? I can leave the next/previous buttons with the arrows as you suggest but I am more concerned by the Resume Player text that appears when you exit and re-enter the course part way through.

I honestly didn't think about that. I was just trying to do the basics, Next, Previous, Menu and Transcript.
I would try translating just that in a new project and publish it to see if it will work. You need to test in HTML5. The Flash publish worked fine for me but my client has to force users to view in HTML5 for their platform. That was very frustrating for me since I had published for the Thai team to review, which they did fine with the Flash version. When we went live is when this issue popped up.

I am having the same problem with upper intonation marks - I imported the translation text in Tahoma font, as recommended by the linguist translating the text. The intonation marks show in the Storyline file, but when I preview or publish the course - the intonation marks do NOT display on the screen. The Thai reviewer indicates that the word is 'misspelled" without the intonation mark. These posts are over a year old - Have you found a solution???
