The 'Author' feature should default to null

I don't know if anyone else is getting caught out by this, but the way that Rise shows the 'Author' of the course on the front page is

  1. Really unlikely to be wanted or needed - I can't think of any developer I've met who wants their name on the front of a course as part of the course design, or who has been asked to put it there.
  2. Really hard to clock as something that will get printed on the front page of the course - it looks like every other instance in the system where you name and the logo associated with it are used for the admin interface.

This has caught me out numerous times where nobody in the review process, nor myself, has noticed it, as it looks like something which is part of the review process or the system, and it makes its way into the final publish without anyone realising it shouldn't be there.

And it shouldn't be there in the first place by default.

This feature is really quite annoying and it should be removed. If people really need to put the author in, let them do it on purpose, rather than making it the default. I've never come across any situation where the developer would want to appear on the front page.

Completely agree LukeMosse-9e864 My team has been caught out in exactly the same way. It's something we have to watch carefully for, but it isn't always spotted until it's too late.
