The latest time-wasting annoyance in Storyline

I am literally copying and pasting menu buttons from one slide to another, taking all of its triggers with it. I've been doing this for many slides through many projects, and it's always easy to plug in and adjust. 

Now, for some reason, I have a case where I'm doing the exact same thing, and of course, it doesn't work. The objects being used have been confirmed in the triggers, and it just refuses to work and toggle. I've tried to copy and paste menu buttons from another slide, and still, doesn't work. It's like the slide is just corrupted, which means go figure something out, right? 

It's really annoying, and I was just wondering if there's any workaround this Storyline glitch.
