Good afternoon! Does anyone know if there is a way to track course completion in Rise? Thank you

Hey all - We've had the same need as many in this thread - needing to track how many people access and complete our Rise course via the weblink. Outside of an LMS, there is no way to track this with how it's designed...BUT...we've hacked a way to do so. Before you first deliver your link to the user, take the URL that accesses the course, and create a BIT.LY link for it. Then, send that bitly url to the user. You'll be able to track how many people click and access the course. Then for any links inside of the course that lead to external sources, you can BIT.LY those as well, and track that. For any videos, don't upload them natively into Rise. Instead, upload them as unlisted videos onto YouTube, and you can track views on there. At the end of our courses, we have a final link that the user has to click to indicate that they've finished the course. It's a BIT.LY link, so we can track how many users finished vs how many started. Granted - it's all macro data, you can't see which users completed what and how far, so it doesn't work for CEUs or certification type training, but it's better than nothing at least for reporting.

If Rise can keep track of a learner's progress in the sidebar, where it says 30% or whatever, as the learner scrolls down through the Rise course, can that percentage be given to the LMS? For example, I have made 1 Rise course with many sections and lessons. It is imported into the LMS as one learning object. I click Start, and I scroll through 17% of the Rise course, and then I exit it. The Start button in the LMS changes to Resume. But, the LMS says I have completed 0% of the course. When I click Resume, it takes me back into the Rise course, picking up where I left off. The LMS doesn't report any completion until I have 100% scrolled through the Rise course. I understand this to be "Track using course completion." But if the Rise learning object can keep track between 1%-100%, why can't it till the LMS that? Basically, I am trying to avoid breaking out my one massive Rise course into smaller chunks, aka, learning objects.

With the Storyline block, it would be really useful to include that in the tracking options. At least tracking completion so we can use this for compliance or CLE courses that may require content tracking.

Great question, Annie! Right now, Rise 360 will report Incomplete or Complete, but not percent partially complete. We haven't included that piece in the SCORM data Rise 360 sends to your LMS. We have seen similar requests for percent complete data, so I'll add your vote for that feature!

I'm adding into this thread vs. creating a new one as it is adjacent to the discussion here. We have a developed Rise course consisting of 15 different sections/modules, each with a Quiz at the end of such section. We would like to be able to export this as a SCORM for use within our LMS with individual quiz activity grade reporting to the LMS? Is this possible with the current state, or is the only option to get the cumulative score of all of the activities to indicate a "Completion" status change? If not, we have discussed other options such as embedding a Storyline block to be able to track/report each quiz score or duplicating the course and removing each section to be able to export individually. Are there any options we have not thought of to get to a similar end result?

Hi, Jenna!

Rise courses be hosted and tracked in a learning management system (LMS), and you can export Rise courses for AICC, SCORM 1.2, and SCORM 2004 4th Edition learning management systems. Just open your Rise course for editing, click Export in the upper right corner of the screen, and choose an LMS specification.

Does it track the answers to the knowledge check questions?

Knowledge Checks are designed as ungraded, informal questions to help a learner check their understanding of a topic or content before moving on to the next lesson.

Since you're interested in tracking, try using quiz questions instead. We're rolling out new question types soon, and we're working on adding the ability to track question-level details of Quiz questions with Rise's LMS output. You can take a detailed look at exactly what Rise is sending to the LMS by enabling LMS Debug Mode.

Hello, just finding this thread and it directly relates to an issue I'm having with Rise courses and my LMS. Does Articulate have a time table for adding the ability to track question-level details in Rise?

Can you set the course completion score to less than 100%.

Hey Denise, you can change the completion percentage on the Export page. I hope that helps!

  I'm looking forward to this... our organization is CLE and we MUST track item level completion within a course for certification.

Hi there! In a rise course, are you able to track how many times a resource has been downloaded or viewed? I also wonder the same thing about visiting outside links (Ex. Google Drive).
