Translation and menu items

I have a problem with French translations of menu items. Upon the import (I used Word) the menu becomes corrupted: numbers appear randomly, first word of the menu item disappears. The ...
I have re-set the menu from the Storyfile, that fixes the problem with cut-off words, in case anyone else is experiencing the same problem.
