Trigger - Resume playback when user hovers out - doesn't work

Hi, I created a button to pause audio when you hover over.  The audio stops when you hover over. There is a check mark on the trigger that says "Resume playback when user hovers out" but the audio doesn't resume.  Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks, Anna

  • Hi Anna,

Thanks for taking your time to post your concern, I tried to replicate this on my end and got the same result the first time, so what I did is I removed the trigger and added it back and it started working.

Here's what the new trigger looks like:

    Action: Choose Pause Media

    Media: Choose your audio media

    When:Choose Mouse Hovers Over

    Object:Choose your pause button

Then keep the "Resume playbacks when the user hovers out" option checked. I hope this works for you and if not, just reply to this thread and I'll be glad to check it further.

    Thanks,

Hi, no, your trick did not work for me.  The audio is not resuming.

  • Hi Anna,

Thanks for sharing those details of what you're running into. It looks like we have a bug reported where:

A button set to pause audio when mouse hovers does not restore on mouse leave.

I'm sorry this is affecting your course; I'll be sure to update you in this discussion when there's any news to share on a fix.

        Hello Alice,

I'm sorry, but I don't have any new updates to share on the bug where a button set to pause audio when mouse hovers does not restore on mouse leave as it's still open with our team. However, I have a possible workaround for you to try in the meantime.

        1. Add a hotspot to the entire slide where the button and audio are.
        2. Right-click on the hotspot and send it to back.
        3. Add a trigger on the hotspot to play the audio when the user hovers on the hotspot. Be sure to uncheck the Stop playback when the user hovers out option.

I've attached a sample file for you to test on your end. I hope this is helpful! You'll receive any new updates here now that you're subscribed to this thread!

  • Hi Anna,

Sorry for the late response, seems to be you're affected by the bug provided by Ren, but I'll attach my test here so you can compare on yours. I've noticed that you can copy the trigger from one project to another so might as well copy mine and test.
