Unable to publish a video as an mp4 file in trial version of storyline 360
Steps taken
Create a new project in storyline 360
Selected record screen--> recorded the screen which I wanted
Inserted the recorded screen as slides in the project
Clicked publish

Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue.
Since you were able to replicate the behavior on a new Storyline 360 project file, I'd first recommend trying to do a repair of your installation to see if this helps. This article explains how to do the repair:
If the issue persists, try publishing your course to either web, LMS, or Review 360 to see if those will generate the same error message.This will help isolate if the issue only happens when you publish to a specific format.
